But what one in your eyes was the best of the year? 1080? Mario Kart Double Dash? F Zero GX? Zelda? Metroid?

Also what was your favourite game to hit the shelves last year and what looks most promising next year on the GC?

Game of last year: Super Smash Bros. Melee because of the multiplayer.
Game of this year: Mario Kart DD because of the multiplayer
Game of next year?: Resident Evil 4 because of the direction they're taking it. It looks more sinister and more like Silent Hill. Scary stuff!

So what's your views?

Zelda did everything Zelda OOT did well but EVEN better... but Wind Waker had a few faults. Which we aren't used to. Both of which cancel eachother out. Therefore it is as good as OOT. Majora's Mask owns them all though.

My favourtie game of 2003 has to be `The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker“. While it may not have been quite as 'spectacular' as `Ocarina of Time“, I still very-much enjoyed the adventure, and was said to see another `Zelda“ adventure come to an end - while instantly wanting more!

Metroid Prime, I felt was also great... But not `THAT GREAT“, as I did pretty much tire of it, a little over the half-way point - and that just never seems to happen in a Zelda game.

As for last year, I think I'd also have to go for `Super Mario SunShine“. It's ``MARIO““! That alone says it all! :)

Well, since we do not know for sure which of a certain selection of games WILL and WON'T be released on the GameCube - let alone 2004 - I think it's hard for me to really look forward to anything other than "Metroid Prime 2" or `Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life“. "Mario 128" is still an uncertainty. However, if it was there, I bet the "Mario-factor" would still be enough to make this my No.1. :)

Hmmm well if Wind Waker isn't your thing then fine.

Yes as a package 64 was superior but the depth to the levels of Sunshine and the extra abilities of Mario made it a technically superior game just in the simple development of control.

Like Wind Waker... better than last generation simply due to the improved combat system.

Technically superior to the N64 version it might be, but it isn't as excellent a package. Mario 64 revolutionised 3D gaming, with incredibly-structured worlds, wonderful platforming sections and massive amounts of depth. Sunshine really didn't have as much of these, and was also a shorter game. Graphically superior it might have been, but nothing will match Mario 64 in terms of gameplay. Ever.

I'm not really into games like that as much. Yes, I enjoyed Metroid Prime, and yes, I enjoyed The Wind Waker. But for me, competitive games are better - espcially football and racing games. And F-Zero GX just so happens to excel magnificently in the latter area mentioned there.

It is technically superior to 64 though... go on play it now and tell me this new generation hasn't improved.

Really? Better than Zelda and Metroid? Fair enough. I never really got into F Zero myself, have you got 1080... I'm quite enjoying that.

Yes Mario Tennis ruled muchly on the N64... though the best game of next year I doubt.

Game of last year: Super Mario Sunshine. Not up to the standards of Mario 64, but still wonderful.

Game of this year: F-Zero GX. Better than Mario Kart, although marginally. Not as fun, or as good in multiplayer, but deeper, and with more of a challenge.

Game of next year: Mario Tennis. No, I'm serious. I loved the N64 version, and as soon as this is out I'll be playing it like crazy. Should be excellent.
