'I look this way, because I want to be different, I want to be individual.'
Pah.
Come on, they all go around in groups, and look the same as each other, listen to only one kind of music, therefore is that so original and different? The answer of course is
No.
Fools. I saw a cluster of them the other day, and fair play to them the looked so very happy (*sarcasm*). What are they so dissatisfied with to look so glum all day long. Life aint that bad, I seem pretty ok most of the time, but I feel fine.
I saw a program on Marylin Mansun the other day, and there was the guy being interviewed with white eyes, red and blue make up, and hair worse than Einstein. Plus there were scars and cuts all over. He complained that people just don't trust him anymore. I wonder why you fool, you look like Satan's brother crossed with a clown.
Get a life, and stop acting all like sheep. Sorry but it has to be said.
As for the "Why do they do it?"
Why do people get dressed up to go to clubs? To get noticed by the opposite sex. Why does a baby cry when it's hungry To get a drink of milk. Why do bands make / distribute demo tapes? To get signed.
Anyone in here that says they have never seeked attention would be a lier.
And in all fairness, what does it have to do with you what people look like?
Are Goths responsible for world hunger? Are all goths axe murderers? I think not. So why pursecute people for what they want to do or how they want to look, when it is completely harmless?
The point stil remains - why do they feel they hve to stand out ad be different? A bid for attention or insercurities? Who knows.
The Boys dress up like girls and wear make up!
I was only walking down the High street the other day and I saw one, I had too look twice because I thought it was the freaking Crow.
Most people would describe themselves as being slightly "rebellious".
Most would also admit to being a little confused with life, its meaning and our purpose in it.
So maybe we are all Goths on the 'inside'.
"Or look atrractive?"
I go to a lot of festivals and the like and you do get some _very_ nice Gothic / skater / mosher girls. But to be fair these are very out weighed by the un atractive ones.
'I look this way, because I want to be different, I want to be individual.'
Is what somebody down there wrote. You take the comment to literally, they dont want to be different to everyone else in the world (For that is immpossible), they just want to rebel against what is the norm. You say that all Goths are the same, but if there are one or two goths walking down the street, they are different to everyone else, they stand out, they get noticed, and that is the effect they want to have.
