So far this game has been nothing but fantastic over the 3/4 hours play I have had on it. The controls and physics are really refined so that everything feels like it should (there is NO clunkyness like the kind associated with flight-sims etc). This game is really good fun and really varied.
There's additional challenges, unlockable movies, loads of aircraft and missions, big levels and missions and 2 player co-op and versus modes.
Today I sneaked into the enemies base using one of their planes took over a runway with the help of the french resistance, gained some wingmen (you can order them about), proceeded to trash two other runways (secondary objectives) and destroy a fleet of ships (primary), had a battle with the German special division of pilots and shot down an awful lot of planes.
and that was JUST one mission (35 minutes of great gameplay!)
There's dogfights, defence missions, offensive strikes and mixtures of the two. There's even a bit where you man an anti-aircraft gun!
Damn, DAMN good!
Roadkill is Midway's vehicular version of GTA, except set in the future and no-doubt MORE unpolitically correct that GTA (One of the radio announcers explains it's ok for kids to shoot their parents and if the kids do that then the parent have done a good job raising them!!!). It's crazy, it's fast it's varied and it's fun!
This is a proper vehicular combat game along the lines of the CAR WARS board games. It's the game we all wanted Carmaggeddon 64 to be!
There's so much to do: Missions, race, package delivery, generally wandering round picking fights, exploring for secrets and weapon parts, simply listening to one of the many radio stations and shock DJ's on the game's radio or picking up a kill frenzy pickup (like GTA) and going on a rampage.
Basically VERY GTA inspired and VERY Good.
Now I have to figure out how to get Live going. :D
Just to clear that up.
Shame really as it would've been great on Live.
There's no System Link option either so there's no possibility of Gamespy etc either.
