Seeing as the expectations appear to be - 'Revolution of unimaginable amplitude' I kinda guess you're right.

Agreed. Black & White was hyped to death to the point were people were buying the game as if it was a given that this is a must own title. When it wasn't that briliant, everyone reacted something along the lines of "wait a minute, i was told this was gonna be awesome and it isn't". Instead of being able to judge the game on its own merits for themselves, they were told what to look for which only led to disappointment.
With his track record, I think Peter Molyneux, the godfather of making innovative games, can be let of for Black & White.

Beware the hype of Lionhead & Peter Molyneaux.
It made Black & White sound like the 2nd coming of gaming, and it wasn't.
It had an excellent creature with ground-breaking AI, but shackled to a pisspoor base-building management game that required you to abandon your creature and concentrate on giving villagers wood and food.
Black & White 2 and Fable are games I'm waiting to read reviews (several) before I purchase, simply because I was disappointed with Black & White as a game on the whole.

I'm slavering like a hungry wolf in anticipation. No I am, really.
If it lives up to the 'hyping' it'll be my perfect game. My only fear is that the Xbox version will be missing certain elements of the PC version.

I saw Fable last year and it is pretty damn good, but I prefer Jade Empire Bioware latest project go check it out its freaking amazing!
