Video games are getting more violent and rude by the minute
For instance,in Metal Gear Solid,A pregnent women actually gets killed!
In conkers bad fur day on the N64 conker seemed like it was just going to be a cute little squirrel ,but then the game comes out,with a rude,gun handling madthing!
It may be a laugh for some,but younger ones could end up saying all those words.
Im not going to give you a lecture about it but really gaming standards have dropped significantly.
What do u think about it?

maybe it's because Perfect dark is a realistic 1st person shooter and has more realistic violence, and CBFD is a platformer with animated violence? do you get my point?

I don't think gaming standards have dropped, it just that there are more Adult themed games being released. I think they need a decent rating system for games, what I dont understand is why Perfect Dark got an 18 certificate, but Conkers Bad Fur Day didn't have a certificate it just had a recommended age on it.
i was'nt trying to and i hope it does'nt but we all have our opinions!

when you say younger gamers, are you refering to yourself? only kidding! But to be honest i don't think anyone cares about violence in games and in some cases it does'nt really matter, i mean yes a pregnant woman may get killed in MGS but due to the poor graphics there's very little to see, and besides the playstation is always churning out trashy violent games in order to appeal to older gamers and they don't give a thought to younger gamers, and any playstation owner who says " oh well psx is for hardcore gamers " is sad and pathetic in my opinion, because the majority of games on playstation are crap in my opinion.
Nintendo on the other hand, are constantly thinking about what gamers of all ages wan't, rather than trying to appeal to just one age group! and even games that are called kiddies games on the N64 aren't really kiddies games, anyone can play them, it just depends on what kind of games you like! although therye should have been more violent games on the N64 for good measure, anyway for games you can't beat Nintendo and the gamecube is gonna rock! but if you wan't to play poorly made violent games then buy a playstation 2, but youll regret it in my opinion! but the choice is yours...

thats why ELSPA have made a rating system for games. if parents and shopkeepers paid more attention to these classifications instead of thinking about shutting their kids up for 5 mins. then there would not be a problem.but stores tend to over look these ratings and sell games to minors regardless of its elspa rating.i dont think gaming standards have dropped in anyway , it just that todays machines are more capable of showing (in great realism)the things you find offensive. i am 29 years old . and i think i am entitled to play games with and adult theme. i think the onus is on the parents to monitor what their children are playing and not to blame the publishers for creating an adult gaming experience.
