Yes, tried that "first come, first serve" basis download crap before. You just end up waiting days to download stuff that corrupts on it's way.

Fileplanet is toss. I'll wait for a link to a different site thanks.

Five no waiting slots open, and I've never had a corrupted download from fileplanet since I've been using it.

I've seen it say that before. I've never had a smooth download from fileplanet in some twenty or so attempts.

???? weird. As I say, I've never had a problem with it at all. Fast downloads, never waited longer than 10 minutes for an open slot (usually on the weekend) and a reliable service in my experience. Might be the work T1 line however. I can imagine slower connections timing out on larger files.

I must admit though, I prefer direct links to files, although on places like computerandvideogames.co.uk I usually get a 5 - 7k per second transfer on the T1.

Getting it from one of the FREE servers at just over 120K/s, so its maxing out my 1Mb connection. Did'nt have to wait at all either so quite good. Never really used file planet as I have had to wait before, but I might start if I its this quick.

I hate File planet so Effing much, or as I call it 'Gay planet'.

Although I do like gamespy.
