The 64 is the MB capacity most modern games use 16 mb, the geforce II MX 3D Graphics means it is expensive.

My Athlon 1.1GHz/GeForce2 mx 32mb combo was getting me 2048 as a top score, haven't been able to get this box near it... my mate's set up with a GeForce3 is scoring in excess of 6000 points...

I've just got myself a Sparkle GeForce 2 MX 64Mb.I've installed it into my 1.3Ghz AMD and It scored a benchmark of 1,745 (3d mark 2001) first time with the drivers provided. I've now installed Via 4 in 1 & Detonator 3, and it's now up to 1,900 mark. I've also got the GeForce tweak utility, and will try to tweak it up a bit.

Question: Is this a decent mark for a 64Mb Geforce II?

Has anyone else got this card or similar?, and if you've got 3d mark 2001, what score are you getting?

I'm in the market for a new graphics card at the moment...saving for a GeForce3, preferably an Asus V8200 Deluxe. As for the card you suggested..find out some more details about it, specifically the exact model and what MX version it is - it'll be either an MX200 or 400, but the 400 has double the bandwidth for transferring data..

The MX is the budget end of the GeForce2 range, you should be able to pick them up for £30-£40, but see if you could stretch to a GTS at around £80, using DDR memory instead. Alternatively, the Kryo II is a good budget (£100ish) card (suposedly) with better FSAA (full screen anti-aliasing) facilities than the GeForce3.

They may seem expensive, but if you use your PC for gaming then you really shouldn't skimp on the graphics card. Have a look around some trade fairs/gaming events - some guy sold a 32mb GeForce2 GTS for £35 at i8, less than half-price.

As a point, I've got a 32mb MX400 and a 64mb MX200, and the 32mb card outperforms the other due the faster transfer rate.

Yes, it's an excellent card but I think it only comes in AGP. You need to find out somehow if your PC has AGP slots. If not, you need a PCI card. I think the Voodoo 5 is the best around.

"64 MB" this is the memory on the graphics card, 64 MB is recomended for most modern games. The GeForce 2 is meant to be an excellant graphics card.
