Steps.

Pop music I can take or leave, some of it's kinda fun, it doesn't seem to hurt anyone, and it's easy enough to turn off, so why do I hate Steps so much?

Is their music any worse than that of any of the other dire pop groups out there? Is it any worse than Atomic Kitten or S Club 7 or Hearsay? I guess not, but my hatred for these individuals certainly makes it seem so.

And you want to know why I hate them so much?

It's because they're all stupid.

I was watching some Sunday midday TV, and they introduced their new video. A cover of Chain Reaction. I guess they've got to keep people interested by covering old songs.

Anyway, when asked why it was set in a hospital, the muppets explained why, then said, that's what our record company told us, anyway.

Asked who chose to cover that song. 'The record company.'

Darned pop muppets.

But that's not all, averytime I hear the brunette one speak, she says something incredibly stupid. You'd think they'd stop asking her questions given the stupidity that comes through in her answers.

And the blokes, well the blonde one, I've never heard the other speak, is such a cretin.

Damn I hate stupid people. I have zero tolerance for them.

But that's what Steps do - they do what the bosses tell them, like millions of other Britions do in their jobs every single day.

If Steps didn't exist we wouldn't get regular spreads in magazines of the three lovely lasses in the band (okay, two lovey and their mate) - that's reason enoung for them to carry on in my book :)

Maybe the t word does get filtered out, but only if the s word (that's Steps by the way) isn't present. Obviously in that case, swearing is genuinely required.

Has anyone else noticed that although we may hate them and wish bad things to happen to them, they are STILL performing and STILL going strong.

Plus they make more money than me... The World is a cruel place indeed!!!

Blonde bloke - completely idiotic fop spacko, always goons to camera and joshes with other 'band' members. A 'laugh'. He's so mad, his name is 'H'! That's not even a name!

Brunette bloke - smug, annoying, stultifyingly twattish imposter who I bet thinks he's too good for the group. The one that needs a brick in the face the most. You know you've done wrong!

Blonde girl - she's got long, braided hair that would be better suited to a crusty at a festival. Otherwise, she passes me by like the wind.

Brunette girl - she's pretty, and that's all she has. A brain the size of a peanut. She wore braces to prove to kids that it was cool, then kept complaining on live TV that she hated them and thought they made her look ugly. Way to go.

Faux Ginger girl - the one who always does 'that' face, when she scrunches up her nose to do the naughty thing. Nice face, shame about the rest of the group. If the group was just her face, then I'd buy their records, or watch their videos at least.

Conclusion: I like Steps.

It was great when someone from steps was on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and got the lyrics wrong to one of her own songs.

Tut tut.

But I have no objections listening to pop, I love some of it for simply what it is. Ear candy. Nothing more, and if people make money from it, then so be it.

See, I say this and I get flamed by everyone and their mum.

And, as an aside and purely because it made me laugh fit-to-burst, an article about Belsen Spice having the mic end of her mike fall off and the voice carrried on undaunted.

And people were shocked.
