Why is it that in all (I think) racing games or car games the cars can do skids and burnouts, leaving rubber thread marks or something. How come that after doing a certain length of a burnout the start of the tyre marks dissapear. Why can't the marks stay on the road forever??

The reason you can't do this is simply a memory problem. Imagine every skid made by every car was stored in RAM. Then there may come a point when:
a) The RAM becomes full
b) There is lots of pop-up due to tracks being created straight off the Disc.

The same problem applies in Goldeneye- when you kill a baddy they soon disappear.

No doubt some one will fix this problem in the future. There are 2 ways to do this. Firstly, the console/PC can simply store an algorithm about how to create a skid in a particular place, and not the skid itself. Secondly, eventually there will be enough memory to store skids.
