Since the playstation was released in 1995 a certain series of games has emerged in the form of survival horror which took the world by storm it was called Resident Evil. The first in the series was a milestone in gaming history which shook and scared the player ,a first. The gameplay was brilliant and it held the same qualities of a good horror film. The graphics were breathtaking which gave the gamesplayer a sense of contol and soon became imersed in the horror.Since then the series has been updated with names as Resident Evil 2.Resident Evil 3;Nemisis and the next generation title on the Dreamcast Resident Evil:Code Veronica. The series always improves on its prediscesser. The game is very much like a film and Capcom keep coming up with superb plots. It is all based on a corporation called Umbrella who try to gain power by unleasing a powerful virus.Having completed them all by far the best is Code Veronica but all the others are absolutely brilliant,a piece of advise go and buy them at special reserve and get ready for a experience you simply will not believe.

Well said, Lucas. I think the reason for the success of the Resident Eveil series above others is definately the cinematic plot and story line (I love the twists in Code Veronica).

I think cinematics will be more important in the future- Square already employ film writers to make the scripts for games, and even have psycologists to analyse how to get an emotional response from the player. No doubt more companies will follow suit.

One thing I don't understand though. Why has Lucas said to buy the resident evil games from special reserve- does he work for them or something? I am a member, and can safely say that there are far more places to get games cheaper! Try simplygames.co.uk (or was that .com). They promise to beat ANY price (inc. mail order clubs and websites) and have FREE next day delivery- something special reserve charge extra for. Also they have offers like, "any PSX game (inc. chart games) for £20". Mind you, the one good thing about special reserve is the "reddies" scheme, where u get free gifts- I have got 2 inflatable chairs from this already. It's a pity there aren't any free gifts for the DC except for a scart lead!
