The first main improvement would be the inclusion of computer-controlled characters in battle mode. Battle mode is a great mode and everyone loves it but you need to have three friends round to fully enjoy it. This could have easily been overcome with an option of having computer-controlled karts.
Playing the game online may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it certainly is for the hardcore gamer. And this game does not have the option, once again outlining Nintendo’s view of online games. Playing the game online would overcome the problem of not having computer-controlled characters as well.
The game was too easy. 150cc and mirror was far too easy. Why didn’t Nintendo put a 200cc option? I’ll tell you why because Nintendo are lazy! They took a known franchise and added two people in a kart, which has barely any impact on the game. Also, another main problem was that on Battle mode, there are only 6 levels and they are all fairly similar as well.
Nintendo have let me down on this one. Nintendo have just improved the graphics, added a new feature that has no impact, improved old levels, added more weapons and characters. I still love the game and can’t think of a better game to spend my hard earned cash on but it really could have been greatly improved.

I think it's brilliant as it is!
You can play it online, it can be difficult, and AI bots would suck - they always do.
Unless its PD.
Oh yes.
