I'm far from an XP expert. Do you mean you tried installing things whilst logged in as the administrator? Because you will need to do that or at least have the right permission settings was a normal user.

Hey - thank for the info. I will try there. Just having problems after I installed XP-Pro, it won't let me load any programs. The pgms start then just stop loading. I have tried my log in and admin also dissabled firewall and nada. Any ideas?

Depends what they are. But although this forum does have Windows in its title, you would be far better off asking in the Web and PC forum.
