Went to the premier of my mate's film this afternoon at the Fright-Fest Horror Festival in Leicester Square.
He has a movie called "Cradle of Fear" showing, 3rd movie he's done.
His 2nd one "Perverella" had Jonathan Ross in, this one has Danni from Cradle of Filth in.
Special effects are by the guys that did Hellraiser and, my personal fav, "Come To Daddy" by The Aphex Twin.

Good fun. Stupid, violent and overly gross movie. Think Bad Taste mixed with Videodrome.

The usual scary bunch of pasty-faced, over-weight long-haired types you see at Sci-Fi and Horror conventions.
Headlining film was "Battle Royale" from Japan, but was sold out so no luck there.

Was just nice to go see a mate's film playing on the big-screen with people that were into it, and my girlfriend had a small part in it. (most of the other female parts involved them being naked and then dead, so I'm glad she only took a cameo in this one)

Film-making ain't glamorous, especialy low-budget UK movies.
Just for the scene with my lady in, lasts all of about 30 secs, it took 4hrs to set-up and rehearse then shoot.

That's 4hrs sitting there smoking, reading magazines and trying to not get in the way of people with lights, cameras etc. Watching people work on latex dummies with no eyes, bit sticking out of stomachs...gruesome but great fun.
Bit disconcerting to sit on a sofa reading Empire with a woman missing an arm and most of her face laying on the floor (prosthetic, but still..well..odd)

Danni from Cradle of Filth.
If you listen to metal, you'll know this band.
Goth-Shock band, think Marylin Manson but nastier.
He looks the part, but is a really nice bloke (he'll kill me if he reads this), any death-metal star that apologises when we get lost on the way to the chip-shop because he can't read directions has got to a top bloke.
Didn't even order babies and sheep heads, just a saveloy and chips.

Ah, the glamour of movies.
...yeah right
