Metal Gear Solid is deffinitly better than its successor , there is no doubt about that .

Soul Calibur 2 is great, but being a beat 'em up, it doesn't have the greatest lastability.
Metal Gear Solid is a PSOne game - as much as it was probably great in it's time, I doubt it betters its sequel, which is near enough a rolling FMV disguised as a game.
