Probably left out if your a real game fan but over the years I’ve seen very little done about this and I can’t fully put myself in their situation but no doubt their furious, Games now have subtitles included on screen which I assume are extremely helpful but your average game player is most likely using a 14 inch TV in their bedroom, Do producers really expect this tiny writing at the bottom to solve the problem, sure it’s a big step up from nothing but is that really enough.
Many people have eyesight trouble and have difficulty reading the screen but I’m sure everyone here would find subtitles irritating when you’re supposed to be watching the cut-scene or FMV.Over the past few years we've seen many games that have subtitles but have the script bang in the middle and can detour people to the text and away from the game, I suppose there is no real way around this but for a lot of people the subtitles aren’t needed so why have the distraction?
I don’t particularly like the thought of having arrows on screen pointing to where the sound is coming from and the colours written on objects but if I couldn’t play the game without them then they’re essential just to actually play the game. Is it really so difficult to provide a small range of options for people to customize what they want or even need, maybe larger text, subtitles throughout or even a better viewpoint.
Have a think of a games option screen, to my knowledge there is very little or nothing on these subjects and I just can’t understand after so many years why there isn’t any pressure on games developers to include these simple features. I sympathise for people not because they have any of these problems but for the simple fact that games just don’t offer any support.
With games now on DVD new doors are open for the special features required but I feel unless producers are forced into the extra work I doubt Willingly they will include them, If their making subtitles for other countries at the same time then maybe it’s not such a big issue. Only time will tell if any of this is taken up but I feel so sorry for people unable to play such great games for the sake of not having these basic options.
Thanks for reading; just out of interest is there anyone here who does suffer?

I suppose you can't miss what you've never had but subtitles are essential both in game and fmv for the deaf or hard of hearing.
But things are made for the "perfect" people. Then again there is subtitles, and people can't make "colour blind games". Maybe if you turn the colour off your TV that would help.
They'll miss out on some game aspects but things like guns shooting without a sound won't shock them.
After how many years without hearing, they'd be more disturbed if they DID hear a noise.
