i know this isnt the place for it, but i also know that jive and others will know the answer.

i want to have my computer(pc) connected to broadband, but i want to know if i can do it wirelessly. its not a problem for distance apart, just whether the sender and receiver things can transfer 1mb?

I don't think you'll find it's a problem. Most network cards transfer data far quicker than broadband anyway.

I'm on NTL:home broadband (600k) and have a second PC connected downstairs via the Actiontec wireless router which NTL had a deal on a few months ago. There's no difference in connection speed between that 2nd PC and my own which is connected directly.

First up your gonna need an access point and you will also need either a PCI card to go into your PC or a PCMCIA card to go into your laptop, depending on what setup you've got.

Have a look on SR or Ebuyer.com

Depends on what broadband package your getting, if your getting a 1mb service then you'll get 1mb downloads, normal BB is 512k downstread.

its broadband. that means one megabit(e), right? if so, i require the two ports to relay 1mb.
