Given the current Hollywood fad of disaster movies, Philip Kerr's gridiron (about a computer controlled office block that begins to kill people when the AI goes crazy after a kid plays doom on the computers) would be a classic hollywood big-budget meaningless film.
I think some young arty director should have a shot at 'The Centaur' by John Updike, that could be made into a beautiful film.

I wanna see a Rainbow Six film.
Little Green Men would also make a damn funny film.
Oh and Winny the Witch. A film of that would be fantastic.
