The first episode was on Sky One the other night and it was surprisingly good for a pilot. For those that don't know, think Columbo crossed with Harry Potter and Buffy and you'll get an idea of what the show is about. The stories are based on a series by Jim Butcher, which has a cult following.
The first episode introduces the main characters and a bit of history behind Harry Dresden, the main focus of the series and the only registered Wizard in America (he's even listed in the yellow pages!) He has a sidekick, of sorts, Bob. Bob is a spirit of an old and powerful sourcerer who now is powerless to do anything himself but guides Harry in his magic and detective work. The character in the TV series does seem a bit camp, however!

I got it because it was a hot prospect but then it turned out to be bomb. So then I burnt it and went and watched London's burning instead wich had a cameo by Ash from Casualty.
