Im not sure if youve heard of this game, but if you have youre probably grinning by now! :-)
Im not to good with dates but I would say that the game came out about 7 years ago, which would have made me 9 years old (didnt get an A in Maths for nothing you know!)
I can remember sitting down infront of my Amiga trying to figure out the god damn answers to the questions that they gave you to get into the game......
because Leisure Suit Larry wasnt designed for littlelons like me they designed this quiz type thing before you could enter the game.
If my memory serves me right you had to answer 5 questions correctly which allowed you into the game, and if you got them wrong the game denied access or something like that.
And do you know what makes this all so much worse?..... The questions were American! :-) So not only were they intended for people aged 18 or over, but for Americans aswell! What hope did I have in playing the game? :-)
Me being me, I just had to play this game.... So I figured out a little system that would hopefully get me in!
As the questions came up I wrote them down on a piece of paper and guessed the answer. If the answer was correct I wrote it down, If not I had to try all over again..... Bearing in mind the game asked about 100 different questions, repeating them occasionally I was sitting infront of that screen for some time! 18 years infact..... Just kidding! :-)
Eventually, I got lucky....... 5 previosly answered questions came up... BINGO!
This game even asked you if you were 18 or older..... I mean is anyone going to admit to a computer that they are only 9?! :-)
Im not going to describe the game to you......
a) because I could go on for ever, and ever, and ever, and ever....
b) most of you that have played this game probably have a good clue what its about anyway! :-)
and c) I would probably get banned for it! :-)

Is this kind of game entry system worth bringing back?
With new technology, it would be impossible to write down all the possible answers to try and cheat the system like I did.
I think this would stop youngsters from playing games they shouldnt. If they can answer certain questions, then they are obviously old enough mentally to cope with certain games.
If they get older people to answer the questions for them, then it is their responsibily.
I think this would cut down on lots of the complaints that game companies recieve, like "My son did this because of your game" etc......
There are always going to be ways to cheat the system, just like I did, but surely if it will help parents and game companies just a little it's worth bring back.

......and If youve still got an Amiga, you have to go and buy Leisure Suit Larry if you already havent! ;-)

In short, no. Whats to stop the youngsters from doing exactly what you did. You would need a system which was fool proof, and i dont think one like that will ever exist.
Dizzy should be as big as Mario today if there was such a thing as divine justice. What great quests.
> I've got an Amiga to sell.
Dont sell it...... I sold mine not long ago, and I really wish I hadnt... :-(
Luckily, (well maybe not lucky!) I found a few old Amiga games in a box in the loft, they bring back some good memories............
Leisure Suit Larry
Police Quest
Monkey Island
Dizzy! - I use to love that game! :-)
Heard of any of them?.....
Owahoooohhhowahhhaaaaowaaaoooooooo...
Coincidentally, I've got an Amiga to sell. You probably download games off the Internet for it, including such "classics" as Oscar, Sensible Soccer, Cannon Fodder and Leisure Suit Larry.
Any offers? It's a C-1200.

why do games have loading time? Soul reaver- a huge sprawling RPG- has none on both the dc and PSx versions. DOA2 on the DC has none on game, even though the levels at so detailed!
Implement quizes and simple games while loading levels! I know there's one footy games where u play "guess where the ball is" while the thing is loading.
How about very low memory old skool arcade games while you are loading levels in tekken- lord knows Namco have enough material!
