We all know that Nintendo have registered GCN as a trademark, something to do with the Japanese language puttting Nintendo after the console name.

But I reckon Nintendo will either change it or not use that in the Western countries, namely America and Europe.

For starters, it makes no logical sense if the console is officially the Nintendo GameCube. NGC is a far better and understandable 'name' to use.

Secondly, have you ever heard of a Nintendo console called the ESN or SESN? Unless you know something I don't, Nintendo never released anything with those names. The Famicom became the NES in the West, and the Super Famicom become the SNES.

So there you have it; the reasons I do not think the GameCube will be known as the GCN in the West.

But with Spaceworld coming up, what with all the officical 'bits and bobs' revealed, I could well be wrong...
