Well, really differnt things work for differnt Web Sites. Depending on the subject or who it's being aimed at. I mean, sure Music on the Freeola Sites would be a dumb move, but one other kind's of sites it works well, like for Flash Games based sites, etc...

... There are some rules of Web Design that don't go with everything, or else the Internet would just suck.

A good website is easy to navigate, quick to load and looks nice on the eyes. Simple, bright designs are the best.

What I think makes a good website is using Verdana for all the fonts. This is the only font available on both Windows, Mac and Linux, and it's very clean. It's also much, much better than Times.

But, the most important things for a website are content and originality. You need to be the best, and preferably the only one in your field. Otherwise, visitors will just go elsewhere.

Embeded music is one of the most annoying things on a web site along with badly designed animated gifs.

What is your site address, and my site has had 213 hits. I have just added a Gif.

I would give you the FTP address but it would probably be blocked.
