I have just watched First Blood for the 15th time and to be honest I reckon that it would make a fantastic game idea.
Here's the hype-
The game is played in MGS2 style.
You start by being arrested while heading through a small American town.
Your first objective is to overpower the guards, grab your knife and run for it.
When you get outside you hav eto steal a motorbike and head off on a high speed chase into the mountains.
Once you have escaped from the cops you then proceed to forage for food and shelter (since it is very very cold in those mountains).
Next the police organise a hunt for you which you must evade. In this stage you use everything that nature provides in order to overcome the enemy (imagine the fun you'd have, setting traps in teh woods for the dumb coppers !).
Then you get trapped in an abandoned mine, from which you need to escape before you freeze to death. The only way to find your way out is to make a fire and use a torch to see where the air is moving (thus leading you to an exit).
Once out, it is time to get revenge on the cops that tormented you in teh first place. Here you go back to town and wreck the place with you M60.
This section of the game ends with your capture and incarceration.
The game would then continue with you being sent back to Nam on a secret mission for the government.
What follows would be a lot of stealth through POW camps and then general mayhem as you destroy everything in your path.

It was a top down Commando style game, where other than killing thousands of baddies you had to rescue POW's that had been tied up. There was a particularly annoying bit where you had to defeat a Hind Gunship with a rocket launcher, though you couldn't total it, only scare it off for a while.
Nowhere near as good as Commando, which absolutely ruled!
