I think that even with a hardware card you might not get good quality with a P2. They still require some resources you know.
What specs your PC? It can really affect the quality of playback if your PC ain't really fast. Think about a Hardware Card if your PCs slow.

A DVD Decoder is the hardware bit of a PC that converts compressed DVD films into something watchable, you can either use one of these or a software De-Coder, however the software takes up valuable system resources so for a slower system a hardware decoder card is recommended.
