Makes me wonder, seeing as they were both new games that came all nice and sealed up.

Its the card that comes with most Nintendo made games, like Mario, 1080 etc. You register them online and get stars. These stars allow you to get free gifts and things. There not really important, but it costs nothing to register and you can get good things like the Zelda bonus disc that they did with the Mario Kart bundle.

Thanks. I thought that it could have been 2 characters that were half gone rather than the 3. The MK:DD one is 4 letters at the end, so I dont think they keep the same pattern.

But it looked like a sticker. In the past they have been proper scratch panels, but this was just like a damn sticker as it was raised above the card by a few mm.
