Ah, my poor fool! How much great gaming an attitude like that will cause you to miss out on.

So what if it looks like a game for a kid?

And since when have cartoons been exclusively for children?

I'm glad I'm mature enough to see past these things and appreciate what gaming is really about, and it ain't the graphics!

I suppose it's the curse of the Playstation. A console in which games are targetted at specific ages, with games like Sesame Street and Tweenies for the little kids, Spyro the Dragon for slightly older kids, and games like Metal Gear Solid for the teen - adult gamers.

You just don't appreciate that a game can have a wider appeal than this, do you?

It's quite sad that a game can be dismissed because of this, but hey, it isn't my loss!

I'll play Zelda and Mario Sunshine, and have great fun. My daughters will watch me paly, and grow up to play themselves, andthey too will have great fun.

I'm not going to sit around only playing games like Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime because I'm 23, and these are the games that suit my age group, I'm a Ninty, and I know that a game can appeal to all ages, whether it looks like a cartoon, or has realistic graphics.

It is difficult to forsee, but i guess only time will tell. One things for sure though if it has the playability, and an ace storyline then, regardless of the graphics i'll probably end up getting it. Like you said its made by THAT MAN!

it's not just Nintendo that make cartoony games, RARE are the main felons, but they make loads of money so obviously theres a good markets for kiddy games, + just because your old now, you must have played kiddy games when you were younger have you grown out of them?

I have no problems with most kiddy games. I do own Fur Fighters and I had a few other PSone games which looked like they might have been on the Nintendo, and I'm going to buy Herdy Gerdy when it comes out. The thing about some Nintendo games, Banjo Kazooie is a prime example, is that they're just overpoweringly childish. It crushes and depresses you and it's all you can think about. I couldn't play Banjo for more than 10 minutes at a time, and that's not an exaggeration. It's so bad it makes you cringe, especially the music.

Now, this doesn't apply to most Nintendo games such as Zelda, but it still applies to a lot.

what? do you see kids driving the sports cars? you didn't understand, Link's a kid and you SEE him killing demons with swords and other instruments of death, the cars you drive in games have roofs, you can't see the drivers, if they were kids surely they wouldn't be on the track for very long?

what i'm trying to say is, Links a kid and adults might think having control over a fictional kid is childish, maybe kids would rather do this kind of thing, making it a kids game..... i'm sure I havn't explained that very well.

Its not that i don't like zelda, it could well be the best one of them all, or even the best game ever. It's just that i expected alot more from the next instalment of the game in the looks department.

The ingame-shots have left me feeling worried on the final outcome of the game, after the highly impressive CGI footage blew me away. The feel of Zelda being a darker more mysterious title, gave me alot more excitement for the way the series might move, but after the ingame-shots i saw, it left me some what dissapointed. I have always liked zelda, but only felt that a change from the bright joyful looks of old, to a more dark theme, could do it alot of good, but thats only my opinion. Just as you stated yours.

Yes i have a PS and PS2, but that doesn't mean to say i have never enjoyed playing my NES, SNES and currently GBA.

And i'm not saying kiddie looks in a game are bad, hell i have parappa the rappa, spyro1&2, as well as the kirby games on my SNES. It's just that the zelda games haven't change all that much in this area, and a different route could be good.

It's only the graphics that make the Zelda games 'childish' how many kids do you know that fight evil monsters and ride horses? I don't know how old Link is but if Nintendo have their way he won't be ageing for sometime, it's down to the graphics and people say they don't like them, and that's fair, but why don't you like them?
will your mates think your a kid if you play them?

yeah alot of the kiddie games are fun for all ages but some are however specifically for children, I like em all but prefer the mature ones, not the blood and gore that make some games 18+ the fact that it involves a mature theme.
