Modern gaming machines are shown off using various numbers and figures but none more frequently as 'Polygon count'. Now this is fair enough if the blooming companies would give honest figures! For example, the PS2 can handle up 2 75 million polygons per second, but with no effects turned on. When such effects as lighting, fog.. etc, etc, bla, bla, are on this count goes down to at least 20 million! Why cant they just tell us the honest figure from the start!? That really bugs me, all they see is the money rolling in from happy yet falsly informed gamers! Im not sure bout the x-box and game cube figures or even if the 20 million above is correct, does any1 know? Is this false advertising or a clever selling point?
