The cheats are totally different for 'The Sims: Bustin Out'

Doesn't matter where you stand. You don't need to stand next to the mailbox. Unimportant.
You do them while playing. You don't need to Pause either.

why dont you just try the cheats at all the places that you just mentioned and then you might find the right places to put them in.
