They might have good ol' Des Lynam but ITV are still lacking the flair of BBC's old MoTD programme where the main focus was actually on the highlights. ITV's programme showed about 15 minutes of football, the rest of the time cut up by advertissement breaks and rushed extras like Terry Venables and his amazing Pro-Zone thing which is just a screen full of different coloured blobs floating around the place. Whereas the Beeb could provide worthwhile insights from footballing greats such as Alan Hansen, Gary Lineker and Trevor Brookin, we are now forced to watch Andy Townsend trundle about in his 'tactics truck' trying to pretend he knows what he's talking about. ITV tried to pack so much into their prime slot of 7pm that it inevitably became rushed and ended up being:

TERRY: Well Des, I think th...
DES: That's great, thankyou Terry. Ally, anything to say?
ALLY: Sorry, what did you say Des?
DES: Marvellous. Well, that's about all we've got time for, we'll see y... (Credits and Music spring up).

DES: That's great, thankyou Terry. Ally, anything to say?

hey anyone wath the man utd game live today? on NTL normal cable it was on CH51. I got it for free of course.
That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing as Sky are pretty excellent when it comes to Sports coverage, but then again it means that you have to get digital if you want to watch it. There doesn't seem to be any avoiding it nowadays; you'll have to become digital in order to keep up with the times.
THe analogue signal will stop transmitting soon anyway wont it? So it will all go to sky in the end.
As I don't have Sky, I think it's better on ITV where I can see it!

Yes it was crap, after watching the first one i will not watch it again, SKY has a better show than this and thats what i will be sticking to. Hopefully the BBC will get it back when ITVs contract runs out.
