Since reading this post, I'm at home now and have dug out my old noise stuff.

Got Soulfly on right now "Ratamahatta". Awesome.
Also have Machinehead, Pantera, Fudge Tunnel and Slayer lined up for an evening's listening.

I may now lean towards funk and blues, but there will always be a part of my heart dedicated to rocking.

Yeah those guys in masks aren't too bad in terms of their skill and they are very good at what they do. The only trouble I would have with them is not laughing at how stoopid they look.

Come on, you may like the band, but surely even their biggest fan thought they were a bit nutty on first sight?????????

Oh I don't doubt that at all.

I'm not saying they suck, just saying I seem to have lost my appetite for that style more and more lately.
I can appreciate the musicianship, god knows I couldnt see how Slayer etc do it whilst throwing themselves about.

Xfm play their new single a lot and it's listenable, turn it up but I'm not sure about buying the album.

Slipknot are so underestimated. If you can get over the initial ROAR of it youll see that every one of them is a very talented musician.

I've listened to a couple of their songs.

Not really my thing.
Used to be into all that music, and I still stick on Slayer and the like, but since I moved into mid-late twenties, I just haven't got the ear for that stuff anymore.

Used to rock it with the best, still got my black-metal t-shirts, but gimme The Meters any day of the week
