ODE TO SPECIAL RESERVE

Once upon a midnight dreary,
Sitting down, eyes red and bleary,
SSX on PS was really quite hot,
But I'd beaten each track,
I'd won the lot.

I'd run out of games,
They all seemed so lame,
DOA's fighting had become far too tame,
Timesplitters was great,
But now it looks dated,
While Zone of the Enders was so overrated.

What could I do ? I had not a clue,
Playing my PS 'til quarter past two,
Eyes getting tired, thumbs getting tight,
But no newer games to challenge my might.

Where could I get some ?
What could I do ?
Metal Gear Solid was long overdue.

In pure desperation I turned to the web,
To search for a web site that didn't feel dead,
By clicking and searching,
Past kids sites and perves,
I finally stumbled on Special Reserve.

Opened the web site in a glow of delight,
I knew that this surely'd keep me up for the night,
Reviews and previews, forums and chat,
Got me so interested I forgot to feed the cat.

The cat ran off hungry but that was just fine,
He belongs to my neighbours, he never was mine,
I went to bed happy, I'd calmed all my nerves,
And all thanks to finding this Special Reserve.

I woke up on Saturday, logged on again,
Bought a new PS game right there and then,
Next I turned to the forums to see what was there,
Once I started reading I was trapped like a hare.

All of these people,
With strange sounding names,
People like me,
In love with their games.

Tony and Wookie, Goatboy and Sniper,
These guys could be ancient,
Or still in a diaper.
Turbonutter, Weetbix, Humpo and Sheepy,
After reading that last one I'm getting quite sleepy.

Look what it gives us,
This wonderful site,
Opinions and jokes to last all through the night,
That's why I'm writing these half rhyming words,
To give this fine website the praise it deserves.

So SR I salute you,
You bring so much joy,
Now we can all talk about,
Sony's new toy.

write about me. im slow and lazy, have never started my own topic and dont post anything or read anything over 8 lines alot. now your wondering if i really read your poem arnt ya?

Now, I am in an artistic mood today. Someone tell me something to write a funny poem or limerick about....

What exactly qualifies people for winning GADs ?

Well, because he posted it today, they haven't probably read it, or decided on which contribution wins.

However, i'll tell everyone about this - it's very good. GAD worthy - easily.

That's not a bad idea... but I'll wait to see if this post gets more responses first.... if not it is back to the drawing board !
