...what games would you recommend? I'm only interested in exclusives, and I'd definately be getting Pro Evo 3.

Hmm, if he likes RPG's then definitely, and also arcade conversions old and new. I've played Dark Chronicle more than any Xbox game already (apart from Halo). I'd say that the PS2 has more real exclusives as opposed to "exclusive until out on another console a few months later". Plus Sony are slowly getting their act together online wise, and whilst the content of central station (news, featured games) is not massive, it is more content than LIVE has, and there is no subscription fee.

He has an Xbox, which has most of the best games the PS2 has - can produce better graphics, audio and has a far superior controller. Has an inbuilt hard disk drive, has an inbuilt ethernet port for Xbox Live, and plays DVDs and CDs (even allows you to play CD music in games!).
So, unless there is one or a few games that really interests him, that aren't due for release on Xbox, I don't see any major incentive for him to get the Playstation 2.

Not really. People talk of it as PS2 exclusive, as do they with Rainbow Six 3 on the Xbox and previously Splinter Cell.
It doesn't really matter anyway; even without it there's plenty to warrant Dark Mark's purchase of a PS2.

That's like saying Mario Kart: Double Dash was exclusive to the UK GameCube because it was out on the PAL versions first.

And Metal Gear Solid 2, which I've seen mentioned atleast once, is also out on Xbox.
