Scotty (Ant) is accompanied by his Tag Team Partner Grandmaster Sexy (also Ant), who won the Hardcore title in the Battle Royal yesterday. Regal (Grandprix) has his friend Tajiri (RawIsAndy) at ringside to cheer him on.
Scotty and Regal circle each other tentatively. Scotty starts a clap, getting the crowd going. Regal bounces of the ropes in each corner, warming up.
Regal straight off goes for a wristlock, but Scotty flips over Regal, freeing his arm, and goes for a Boston Crab! Regal squirms out of it, and hits a big running clothesline. Regal trys a figure 4 pin on Scotty, but Scotty rolls out of it into a bridge pin.
No count, because Regal pushes himself over scotty, into another bridge pin. Scotty kicks out, and rolls Regal up. Instead of just kicking out, Regal rolls further than he should do, making Scottys arm twist behind him, into a sitting armbar. Scotty does a HBK-esque flip to his feet, where he uses Regals already extended arm to perform a Manhistrol Cradle.
Regal again uses Scottys own momentum against him, rolling over into a bridge pin. Y2J uses amazing leg power to push Regal over him, so Regal is on his belly with Scottys legs still intertwined with his, and does a mexican surfboard stretch! Regal is in pain, and he isn’t touching the floor, so he can’t pull himself to the ropes. Regal hangs there for about a minute without tapping out, before he manages to get out of it by leaning all his weight the right, making Scotty lose his balance.
Regal jumps at his opportunity, leaping on top of Scotty and punching his in the face. Hard. Regal gets up, and tries for a powerbomb, but his back is too hurt to lift Scotty. So, instead, his does a backslide pin, which Scotty kicks out at 2 from. Regal knife chops Scotty into the corner, where he chokes him. Scotty fights back, and the two exchange chops, the slaps of which ring out across the whole arena. Scotty gets the better of Regal, and knocks him down against the turnbuckle.
SCOTTY HITS A HIP HOP DROP on Regal, but Regal still kicks out at 2. Scotty stands him up, and whips him into the ropes, putting Regal into an octopus stretch as he comes back. Regal eventually reaches the ropes, but his back looks bad. Scotty trys for Irish whip, but Regal reverses it, and hits a drop toe hold. REGAL LOCKS ON THE REGAL STRETCH!! Scotty struggles for the ropes, but just as he’s about to reach them, Regal pulls him right back! Scotty gets back to the ropes however, but the damage is well and truly done. Regal does a falling arm breaker on scotty, then an arm dragon screw.
This is a superb technical match from these two.
Regal locks in a standing arm bar, but Scotty manages to throw him off in a hip toss. Scotty whips Regal off the ropes, and dropkicks the Goodwill Ambassador. Pin…1…2…shoulder up. Jawbreaker from scotty, who then leans down and grabs Regals legs, attempting a figure four pin. 1…2….kick out. The crowd are really into this match.
Scotty whips regal into the buckle. He hits a big splash, reminiscent of his old pal Rikishi. He then sets Regal up top… and goes for a superplex. Regal grabs the top of the turnbuckle, and Scotty only succeeds on throwing himself backward, into the canvas! Regal smiles evily, and climbs off the buckle. Pin….1….2……..late kick out from scotty. Scotty trys a dragon scew, but Regal attempts an enzuragi (yeah, like spellchecks gonna let me get away with that one)! Scotty ducks it, but Regal brings his leg back over, hitting the back of Scotties head! 1……2……kick out by Scotty. What resiliency.
Regal trys to whip scotty into the buckle, but Scotty reverses it, sending Regal stomach first into it….facecrusher by scotty! He signels for the Worm! The Ants in the auidance go mad! But wait…. Here is Rhyno (Jet) running down the isle with with a chair! He must be going after GMS’ hardcore title! Grandmaster hasn’t seen… Scotty shouts, but he cant warn him. Raven runs at GMS with the chair and raises it. GMS turns round, and sees the black object coming towards him. Its too late to duck…too late to move…he braces himself for the pain….
SCOTTY flys out of the ring!!! He hurdles the top rope, and lands on Rhyno, taking him out completely! He hurt himself in the process, but he at least saved GMS’ hardcore title reign.
Regal is now up, and he drags Scotty into the ring, before locking on the Regal Stretch! Scotty taps, but the referee is outside, looking at Rhyno! Regal breaks the hold, and goes to grab the referee. Scotty gets up….facecrusher on Regal!!! WORM TIME!!!
W…..O…R….M….. Scotty could do this with his eyes closed. In fact, he is doing it with his eyes closed. Which is why Regal is able to stand up, wondering why most people stay down for so damn long after that facecrusher, and watch Scotty with a look of total contempt on his face! Scotty rolls about on the floor, as he always does…. HOO HOO HOO….and he opens his eyes. He seems pretty shocked that Regal has already moved. Regal is behind him….. Regals Neckbreaker on Scotty! Pin…1….2…..3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
