A great year will be 2004 for sequals and online gaming.

The gamecube will get games like:
Harvest Moon: a wonderful life
Final Fantasy: Crystal chronicles
Metal gear solid: twin snakes
Pokemon colloseum
Geist
Pikmin 2
Four swords plus
Donkey conga
There will also be many new announcements this year.
They will probably announce the new Zelda, Donkey Kong and Mario
And Nintendo will most likely release the new hardware in Japan this fall.
The Playstation 2 will get games like:
Killzone
Final fantasy
GT4
GTA: San Andreas
Syphon Filter
Metal Gear Solid: Snake eater
Eye toy: fight and Eye toy: sports
Jak 3 is in the early development, but maybe it will come out this year.
There are also some rumours about Rachet and Clank 3.
And the PSP will also come out in November
I am not so sure about the x-box, because it does not interest me, but I think that Halo 2 will be one of the best games this year.
And I do also think that Half-life 2 will be released on the big black box
Both the x-box and the ps2 will get Driv3r
There will most likely be a new Fifa game for all the consoles
A new Tony Hawk will also appear, if Activision manages to squeese more out of the franchise.
We will also get to know more about the next-gen consoles, PS3, X-box 2 and N5.

Dunno about console-based pro gamers yet though. There was talk of setting up an all-star European SOCOM team to take part in tournaments worldwide but I don't think there was enough sponsorship for them to cover the airfares.
I think E3 might be interesting this year. Nintendo have been hinting at new hardware for ages and Sony are said to be showing the PSP for the first time in May, so that could get quite exciting.
I made a list of 10 'must get' games for this year (yes, I know the last two are out already):

Champions of Norrath: Realms of EverQuest
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2
Destruction Derby Arenas

MGS3: Snake Eater
Unlimited Saga

Trouble is, I'll never get a chance to play them because there are still about 40+ games I've got that I haven't completed from last year. (Last year was a pretty good year for games).
