I can get a 64MB Voodoo 5 for £55 from PC World..... Only problem it's for an apple Mac.

I'm not going to upgrade my mobo. It would be cheaper to buy a whole PC off Bonus. Or, I might build one from scratch using the best partf of my PC (that'll be the graphics card and the optical mouse then). Yup!

I've never actually owned a 3dfx card...but buying nVidia makes more and more sense as time passes. Old voodoos are still perfectly usable for many of the current titles, but seeing as nVidia now all but control the market, people will be forced to move to them for upgrades.

Could just rephrase this as "Why the hell are you using a PCI graphics card if you want games?"

What, pray, is wrong with 3dfx? The Voodoo 5 is the best PCI graphics card you can get according to PC Format.

Yes, there is indeed a PCI version of the Geforce2 MX. However, don't expect it to give the same performance as the AGP one. Also, whatever you do, stay well clear of anything with "3dfx" on the front! :)
