To make the Freeloader a more successful disc, i think that buying them should automatically make your Gamecube compatible with all discs, pirate or not. Although the company that makes Freeloader would have to raise the price marginally or largely, this would not be a problem, for me, or indeed anyone else, beacause it would mean buying much cheaper games, and being able to play them.

Copied games don't make consoles successful. Even if more consoles are sold, but less legitimate games are, then the console manufacturers still lose out.

For example, Sony don't actually make any money on consoles - as far as I'm aware, they lose money. And the retailers that sell them make around 50p depending on the price they sell them at.

I too have also never seen Gamecube pirate stuff, althrough I was lucky enough to play on it way back when it came out in Hong Kong with my Friend on release date. That one had a Freeloader inbuilt into it though which is kinda cool. But I would never do that and void my warranty.

I hardly think pirated games make the PS2 so successful.

Even greater stupidity does that.

Well it surely wouldn't have helped the Gamecube, seeing as the revenue is made on the software (games).

Or maybe not, consider the fact that the PS2 is able to play pirated disks, and note that it also the best selling console...

you can buy the small blank 8cm discs and get the game files off kazaa but you need a special CD burner, can't think of the name though.

But no-one has played a pirated game on the Cube, quite an achievement by Ninty really.

I've never actually seen any pirated GC games.. maybe Ninty's strategy of using small discs to loose piracy worked!

hmm, not the best idea to suggest & recommend piracy on a retail websites forum me thinks.

Besides which Cube discs can only be copied by special CD burners so forget the idea now.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
