It says 'Jap/USA and Multi-region modified' Does this mean it won't play UK games? So, will I need a UK version of Freeloader or a foreign one?

Anyone know where I could get this cheaper too? It's a potential impulse-buy but I'd rather save some dollar if I can.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I totally overlooked the fact of Import Tax. Having previously worked at Parcelforce Customer Services, I know how crippling the taxes can be.

Wasn't there some kind of method where you could ask the senders to 'mark down' the item so it avoids getting taxed?

I would avoid buying one from lik-sang etc. Although the console is considerably cheaper from there, you will end up paying import tax. When i bought mine i calculated i would have to spend another £110 quid, bringing the total up to £400.

On a post a few days ago, i think "N64 4 EVA" said he payed £122 on import tax, so i wasnt far off with my workings out (Maths GCSE dont you know)

So i only recommend getting a brand new modded one of ebay, that is already in the UK. They go from between £350 and £450. Well the ones ive watched!

Its a definate collecters item of the future!
As is the panasonic pad!!!!

Im now looking to buy a 64DD and an iQue!

I think it could become a collectable console.

Considering it was only produced in japan there are bound to be a lot of people that were interested in it but never really got around to importing. And the numbers produced are bound to be small, relatively speaking.

I don't expect them to become too valuable...
They'll be pretty rare, the modified ones at least, but I doubt there'd be too much actual demand from people who don't already have one.

You never know, but I wouldn't buy one counting on it becoming valuable later.

It'd be nice if it does though :^)

I do wonder if the "Q" will increase in value over the next few years, now they've stopped making them, anyone seen any figures on how many were produced ? ... I would like one but can't justify getting one really.

I almost bought a Q from eBay, but was outbid in the last minute. I've since changed my mind.

There was a topic on the Q (started by moi) a few days ago:

I think my heading is better.

Thanks, I'll give Play-asia a look then.

Ebay don't have anything yet.
