Alright, i need a laptop, partly so i can go and speak to customers and look professional and show them their website or whatever on it, and partly so I can play Counter-Strike in bed!

So, what kind have you got? How much did it cost? Are you happy with it?

I heard Dell are best, what do you reckon?

Thankyou!

My mum's got an Advent, and it's higher spec than my PC, cheaper, better, smaller.

So I've asked her to leave it to me in her will.

They really are good though, I use her laptop for playing PC games on and I use my PC for normal PC stuff now.

Sony do make pretty nice laptops, but they're a lot more expensive than other well know brands. You're def paying for the name.

Dell & Compaq are other decent makes. Never had any problems with them. But theres also PC Worlds own brand - Advent. They have some really good deals on at the moment and they are pretty solid in looks and specs.

I agree with Reaper. You can't get enough RAM in laptops. Upgrading them isn't as easy and is more expensive than desktops, so try doing a deal at the time of purchase. Get at least 128meg.

Meself? just bought an ickle IPAQ. Woah, I am totally amazed with it. All that power in one hand. Haven't had that since.. last night :)

Me? I wish. Stole it off my dad, he never sees it any more. You should be able to pick up that sort of spec for just over £1000 now - get lots of ram with it, they charge $400 for an extra 128mb...alternatively, get non-sony ram when you upgrade.

Sony Vaio SRK-something.

P3 500mhz, 192mb ram, windows 2000...excellent for any design stuff I do, but poor graphics - 3mb integrated chipset, I think. Would've benefitted from a GeForce2 Go.

I haven't had any experience with dell laptops, but this is great for what I need - and -very- light.
