How does the storylines affect a game? Read on to find out...
Take Final Fantasy 9 for example.
The storyline goes like this: A brave boy with a giant sword starts off as a thief. When he meet the princess, she asks him to kidnap here. They meet an evil man thats gonna take over the world. And, of course they have to stop him instead of calling the police or something. On theyīre way to stop him, they meet old friends and new friends that joins up with them. Original, err, NO.
Now, letīs look at Sonic:
A mad professor with super hi-fi weapons wantīs to take over the world. A super fast blue Hedgehog(Finally a little originality) with his friends try to stop him by destroying all his mechanic robots. What do you think, original or not?
What about Zelda:
In the world of Hyrule, a thief is lurking outside Hyrule Town. Itīs Ganondorf, the man that wants to take over the world(Typical,huh?)! A forest boy with a sword and a shield is picked out to stop this man by help of his sword teqnique and magic. On his journey, he will meet a lot of people that wants him to do something for him. Okay, another "save the world" game.
And then Banjo-Kazooie:
A crazy witch is close to her wedding, but before she getīs married. She wants to be more beautiful. So she makes a machine where to persons can switch look. Then she kidnap Banjoīs sister so Banjo and his best friend Kazooie must stop the witch from succed.
And then, letīs look at Pokemon:
A ten year old boy decide to start his journey as a Pokemon trainer. Pokemons are tiny animals that you send out to fight and Ashīs dream is to catch them all. He meets Team Rocket, a group of thiefs that want to take over the world using the Pokemons. Ash will also meet friends along with some enemys. The idea is original but the "Save the world" is back, again.
And last, Conkerīs Bad Fur Day:
Conker is a foul-mouthed squirrel who drinks himself drunk. He gets lost and have to deal with a lot of dangers on his way back to the bed. He will meet a lot of original characters. This game is without doubt the most original game ever. Itīs Awesome!

Pokemon wasn't "save the world", it was be the best POkemon master.
Anyway, most of Conkers style was blatantly ripped off from Southpark!

Zelda games are some of the best GAMES ever... but the story lines are always the same (except with the GB game).
Princess Zelda is captured by pig man.
It's up to a small forest boy to save the world.
HOWEVER! With the latest 2 games on the 64, things have changed. Zelda MM is probably the most original game with multiple dimensions and the time limit. Zelda OOT was the the first truely epic zelda game. Ganandorf is a dark night. Cutscenes reflect his evil nature. The whole thing is genius!
