Cancelled, just so they can do an expansion pack for the PC users.

Unfair, don't you think? I was looking forward to this game too.

Guess I'll have to get the PC one now.

Of course I was supposed to quote this "I reckon the single player should be pretty good, but Live is going to be it's strong point (hopefully!)." Now hopefully my response makes a little more sense.

And a console only Battlefeild! makes sense, the PC version is designed for big servers that probably wouldn't have worked as well on Live, and while I have heard nowt about it myself I doubt EA will put the work in until after they release Battlefield Vietnam for the PC in March.

There is no single player, just the ability to play the multiplayer maps against bots. It's the multiplayer that makes Battlefield 1942 the fun game it is. I love the huge ass 64 player servers it's like a full on online war, and getting into a tank and charging it through an enemy base blowing up anyone you see never gets boring.

Will try Live, getting just PGR2 with it (it's all second hand but still has the 2 month free trial unused) will pick up CM04 also before weekend, could do with winning the Xsara ! (will get link for competition info if anyones interested)

Still busy with Racing Evolution and 1080 on the Cube also, so lots of gaming fun ahead :)

I never actually played the PC version. I have no idea how it plays, just that it is very good, and it looks it too.

I reckon the single player should be pretty good, but Live is going to be it's strong point (hopefully!).

Co-op would definitely rock in this game. Halo proved co-op can work, so we'll have to wait and see if the developers pop it in this game.

I wish I had played the PC version to be honest, I don't know why I didn't buy it. Might as well wait for the Xbox version now though.

i know you won't know too much about Battlefield 1942 for the Xbox but you can at least guess the answer to my questions since you probably know more, if not just about the PC version, than me:

*Will it still be an excellent buy without Live?
*Do you think a co-op mode will be implemented?

Are you going on Live straight away? If so, what games are you getting for it (or are coming with the box)?
