I have a challenge for everyone who likes games.

Go to this website

http://www.geocities.com /Jammey_ben/

Down load the emulator and the Sonic 1 ROM.

I bet that nobody can complete the first 3 levels before Sunday!

By levels I don't mean Act 1 2 and 3, I mean complete the acts of the Spring yard level.

As proof you have to take a screenshot of the opening screen of the next level and post the URL here. I bet you cant!

Emus are illegal in most cases. But it is generally accepted in the industry that for games that you cannot buy anymore, then u can download them... if the technology exists.

Old game makers use emus to play their old creations for christ's sake!

No one loses money co the games are not on sale.

Anyway, there are plenty of MD emus, and I'm sure there are some SNES ones.

There are no Saturn emus because PS and saturn archetecture is so dissimlar that no one has made one yet. But if they existed it would be fine to use them.

well... technically true... but not always morally wrong.

Take very old games- like Manic Miner. Know, I would love to play this game- but it is no longer made. So, by using an emulator I am technically breaking thge law (assuming the copyright and publishing rights are still valid), however, no one is losing money, and I am gaining gaming experiences.

Even the game's creator uses an emu to play the game!

When it comes to consoles still on sale, then emus are morally wrong.

See if you can get the smash tv rom, then set up the controls so its 1player, 2 pads, then use the directionals from each pads.

Its one of the best!

(It was a lot better on the Snes, because it had the 4 buttons in the right place, and the md ones diddnt work so well, but doing it this way makes it a great game!)

We were just used to it then...

Exactly, that's why I did this, To make people realise how games have changed, sinse the first (?) Mega drive game!

It's very frustrating at first because it is so difficult. It gets easier, but I have been trying for a week, and cant get past the 1st act of the 3rd level!

The older games are harder cos nowadays we are used to having games that react when you press the buttons. Because the speeds wernt like they are now, games diddnt react as fast to your commands as they do now.

We were just used to it then...
