Also, the Xbox DVD player doesn't have an option which shows you how long the film you're watching is. Which is very annoying.

My early PS2 was a bit crap at playing DVDs and until I changed the cable the had poor colouring. Newer ones are better though.

Xbox DVD player is mucho superior though. In fact, until I got a new DVD player with surround sound a while back, the Xbox got used more than the PC or normal DVD player. The downside to it is that it has a noisyish fan. But seeing as I don't watch DVDs with my head next to the player I don't notice it.

You sure you're not watching dual layer DVDs which always pause as the laser changes layer halfway through?

Aside from that no, DVDs play fine on my PS2.

On the ps2, i have managed to watch about 2 films on it.

PS2 DVD player is crap, and come to that so is the Xbox's.
