To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Atari brand, publisher Infogrames is releasing a mega-pack containing 12 of the most fondly remembered games from the company that brought you such delights as Missile Command and Battlezone.
Born in 1972, Atari was the first company ever realised that focussed solely on the creation and marketing of computer video games for the general public. It's had its ups and its down, but thirty years on the brand name is still alive and kicking and now finds itself in the capable hands of French publisher Infogrames.

The Atari Anniversary Edition will be released for both the Dreamcast and the PC, and will contain classics from the 70s and early 80s, the period that many regard as the Golden Age of video computer gaming. Starring in the line-up will be: Asteroids; Asteroids Deluxe; Battlezone; Centipede; Crystal Castles; Gravitar; Millipede; Missile Command; Pong; Super Breakout; Tempest; and Warlords. All the games will remain faithful to their arcade heritage.

In addition to these gaming delights the pack will also contain a multimedia supplement that includes interviews with the original designers of the games and other memorabilia. The PC version will also come with a selection of related desktop themes, and both will come with an Atari sticker that you can wear on your forehead or something.

The Atari Anniversary Edition will be released in September 2001.
