Finished another marathon session rehearsing (6hrs tonight) and got a copy of some of our lyrics, and seeing as I usually singalong (albeit not miked up, singing drummers suck, without exception), I thought I'd post some here.
Because I love my band and want to share it:

POTS & PANS
(about chucking it all in and going for what you know you should be doing, instead of making do with what you are doing)

Got a bad taste in my mouth
Chew me up and spit me out
Don’t you know what I’m about?
Well I should’ve seen it coming
Should’ve spent my money
Change for a day
Get away
Just let it out

Now there’s nothing left to spend
Time and money soon they end
But I know I’ve got my friends
Well I thank you very much
Gonna keep in touch
Write me a letter just to make him better again

Tomorrow I’ll be there
No more 9-5
I’ve had my share
Now I’m doing fine
Tomorrow I’ll be there
Nowhere left to hide

Tomorrow is a day
Gonna keep you away
If and buts they never seem to pay

COMING HOME
(about being away from the one you love, be it university, work or just distance)

Sad films always make her cry
She hugs herself
She turns herself into someone else
Black marks underneath her eyes
She paints herself
She hugs herself again
She looks at me that’s when
I know
I’m coming home
You can’t say no
I’m coming home

Staring at the passers by
She hates herself
She makes herself somebody else
Sitting in her favourite chair
She starts to cry
She wonders why again
She looks at me that’s when
I know
I’m coming home
You can’t say no
I’m coming home

You are the one that made me
You wipe the tears from my eye
I can't be sure but maybe
I'm gonna see you sometime
I'm coming home

There.
Feel free to mock, whatever. I just posted these because I know, despite however tiring it is doing it 2-3 times a week, driving all over the place - I am doing exactly what I wanted to when I was a kid.
We may make it, we may never do.
But at least I can say I tried, and I'm loving every single second we play, rehearse and record.
I can tolerate my crap job because that's just something I do during the day.
My time is spent with my band, my girlfriend and my mates.
Like Pots & Pans says
"Time and money soon they end, but at least I've got my friends, well I thank you very much"

And now I go to sleep for 5hrs before I get up and go to work.
But I don't care, I can take being tired when my time is spent following my dreams.

Cheers
(an unusually calm and serene)

Nice lyrics senior Goatboy!

Who wrote them (team effort or specific person)?

I'm sure they would go better with the tune. What sort of music do you play, if you can/ don't mind categorising yourself?

Too tired to think straight now. Rocky kicks ar$e!

I have the utmost respect for a person who can honestly say that they are doing something they want with such enthusiasm. Like you say, Goatboy, you may make it or maybe you won't - to quote a RHCP track: "It's better to regret something you did than something you didn't do." Not that I'm saying you'll regret it - quite the contrary: I think the more people do what they want and not what they think they should be doing, the better, happier and more at peace with themselves they'll be.

You're lucky that what you do is enjoyable enough to negate other parts of your life you don't enjoy, i.e. work.

Good for you, mate!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Everybody thinks I am an IT genius...
Nothing but admiration. I have been complimented on the church site that I manage through you and everybody thinks I am an IT genius. Your support is unquestionably outstanding.
