My own computer has the sircam worm, and will now not boot up, I have been on my dads computer in his room all weekend and haven't used mine. I turned it on tonight and bang, the virus killed it. If anyone gets any dodgy looking e-mails from me delete them, or check to see if I sent you it first.
I have never had a virus!!
I honestly have no idea, I know it's the virus becaue Nortons comes up and says that it has found the files when the computer is booting, but it's too late my drivers etc. have all gone, and Nortons cannot delete or quarantine the files, . Maybe I have a rougue variatipon or something, because as far as I was aware it didn't and wouldn't do anything until October the 16th.
It's not suposed to kill it I don't think.
Anyway, you need to boot into DOS and delete the offending files. Get instructions from Symantec.
