What have I told you about writing these kind of posts at this time of night! :-)
The worm that is affecting use for many users at the moment, this is called Sircam.
Most e-mail viruses attack Outlook and Outlook Express directly, hence affecting only customers running these programs. Sircam is particularly nasty in that it bundles its own mail server with the virus, and can send out mails as long as you are online - you do not even need to have a mail program open to spread this virus via your machine.
Again, for more information, you should visit the Symantec website's write up on it:

This also includes information on how to find out if you are infected, and how to disinfect yourself [either manually or by running the disinfect program they supply].
Virus Prevention
----------------
The golden rule when it comes to e-mail is that if you don't know what a file attachment is and don't know AND trust the person an e-mail came from, delete it immediately unless you can independently verify that it does not contain a virus or other damaging program.
We remind users that they are responsible for their own security whilst online, and advise the running of up to date virus protection software and to update the viruses these protect against regularly, which is usually done via the website of the vendor of the software.
ewwwwwww!
Thats sounds horrid!
