Xbox gamers in Japan have been getting some pretty cool stuff with their game purchases, but this would have to be the coolest. Microsoft announced today a special give-away item for those who purchase the upcoming Japan-only "Kasumi-chan" Xbox bundle. 28000 yen will get purchasers a blue Xbox system, a copy of DOA Ultimate, the DVD kit, 12 months of Xbox Live -- and some much needed companionship in the form of a cushion featuring Kasumi in a bathing suit.
The key point about the cushion is its size. At a full 160 centimeters (IGN's Japanese correspondent, for reference, is about 172cm), the cushion offers the next best thing to actually having Kasumi right underneath (or on top of) you. Note that the cushion isn't in the shape of Kasumi -- it just has her full profile on it, front and back. Still, the parts all line up...
Only 5000 of these cushions, and 5000 of the blue Xbox system, will be made, so those in Japan should be sure to get their pre-orders straightened out in time for the 3/25 release. Failure to do so will result in continued loneliness.
