Because that would upset the delicate balance of "bit doubling". I mean, consoles started off at 8-bit, then 16-bit, then the PSone was 32-bit, and so on. You won't get a 356-bit console, definately a 256-bit console, and maybe a 512-bit console.
I didn't make any sense there, but it doesn't matter. This topic isn't really popular, is it?
