Or to put it simpler, progressive scan does NOT use HZ, it will never run based on the rules of HZ TVs... you cannot compare it to 50 or 60HZ

It will be forced to play in Progressive Scan. It does not work in hz. HZ denotes the refresh rate of the screen, since Progressive Scan works on entirely different principles, it would not run in a hz mode, it would run in a progressive scan mode.

Since its plamsa technology, I'd assume that its fairly smooth like.

You still haven't answered my question , take tekken 4 for example , it has progressive scan , 50 hz and 60 hz modes , if I select progressive scan , will this force it to be played in 50 hz or waht ?

Gah, no they won't they'll be the correct speed. The only way a prog-scan telly will affect your games (other than making them look better) is that light-guns don't work on them.

But progressive scan tellys are rare in this country anyway, so what are you worried about.

They will definitely be faster than 50/60Hz.

Well, assuming that Progressive Scan is plasma technology, I'd say that its ULTRA smooth mainly due to it being nice fresh and new technology!

As far as I knew, Progressive Scan is for Plasma TVs, if you try and use it on a normal TV it'll booger it up! Since plasma TVs don't use a refresh rate of HZ, that doesn't come into it at all. If you play a game in Prog Scan mode it won't be 50 or 60HZ, it'll just be Progressive Scan.

I COULD be wrong, but thats what I was led to believe.
