It is a warning to the companys that prices of games are to high

How about when the gaming industry turns around and says that the prices won't go down unless piracy stops?

eh? In about 2 years time, Sega will be the 2nd biggest publisher after Ninty. And they don't have hardware loses (hardware is sold at a loss), to worry about.
And, unlike Sony, Sega produce games on all consoles... meaning that not all games will be able to be copied (well, not as quickly as it will take for the PS2 to be cracked). And if piracy is a big problem on, say, the PS2, then they can just make games for the GC etc.
