Is it worth it??
The thought of an oversized, overly hot board that sounds like a vacuum cleaner is strangely enticing...

That's what the target market is, yes.
The lack of numbers is made up for by the price.
I don't see any other people needing to buy it in a year and a half at the moment.
It won't be as good as an ATI card on Half Life 2.
The highest 3D Mark 2001 for a FX 5900 Ultra is 29,000. However a more realistic figure for a good overclock would be 21,000. In 3D Mark 2003 they can achieve over 7,000 with non approved drivers. In fact there was an overclock to over 9,000.
A Radeon 9800 Pro can also hit 29,000. But there appears to be a lot more 25,000 marks out there. In 3D Mark 2003 they can do over 7,000 with FutureMark approved drivers. 12,000 in one case without.
So why not go for an S3 Savage 3D? If you are really lucky you can hit 287!
I would go for an ATI card out of choice. But seeing as the cheapest 9800 Pro seems to be around £240, then the possible slight performance gain would not be worth the £100 in my opinion.
Of course I would not buy a card at the moment as it is, ATI have a new chip due out within the next month or two. In which case hopefully the old ones will fall in price.
I've seen that somewhere, and it seemed a bit too fishy.
Are they THAT useless?
